Disney Cruise Line is returning to New York City—and this time, it is bringing the Disney Wish.
Beginning in late September 2027, the Disney Wish will sail from New York for a limited season of just seven cruises.
The four- to seven-night voyages will take guests to Bermuda, New England and Canada, giving families in the Northeast a rare opportunity to experience one of Disney Cruise Line’s newest ships without flying to Florida.
The New York sailings were announced as part of Disney Cruise Line’s fall 2027 and spring 2028 schedule. Early booking begins August 31, 2026, for select Castaway Club members, followed by general booking on September 8, 2026.
Disney Wish Will Sail From New York for the First Time
The 2027 season will mark the first time the Disney Wish offers cruises from New York City.
The ship will arrive in New York in late September 2027 after completing its inaugural European season. It will then operate seven special voyages from the city before continuing to San Juan and eventually returning to Port Canaveral.
Because the New York season includes only seven sailings, availability could be limited—especially for popular stateroom categories, connecting rooms and cruises scheduled around school breaks.
Where Will Disney Cruises From New York Go?
Disney Cruise Line has announced two main destinations for its 2027 New York sailings: Bermuda and the coast of New England and Canada.
Five Cruises to Bermuda
Five of the seven Disney Wish cruises from New York will visit Bermuda, known for its pink-sand beaches, turquoise water and British-influenced culture.
Three of those Bermuda cruises will include an extended visit, giving guests an additional day to explore the island.
More time in Bermuda could make it easier for families to enjoy the beaches, book an excursion and explore areas such as Hamilton or the historic town of St. George’s without trying to fit everything into a single port day.
Bermuda is also a convenient cruise destination from New York. Unlike a Caribbean cruise that may require several days at sea, a Bermuda itinerary can combine warm-weather beaches with a shorter sailing from the Northeast.
New England and Canada Cruises
The Disney Wish will also sail from New York to New England and Canada’s Atlantic coast.
These fall voyages will give passengers a chance to see the region during its colorful autumn season. Disney Cruise Line said this will be its first time sailing from New York to New England and Canada’s Atlantic coast in nearly four years.
Disney has not yet released every port and departure date in its initial announcement, so travelers should check the individual itineraries when reservations become available.
Why the Disney Wish Coming to New York Is a Big Deal
Disney Cruise Line has sailed from New York in the past, but the arrival of the Disney Wish makes this season particularly notable.
The Disney Wish debuted in 2022 and is one of the newer ships in the Disney fleet. Until now, many families who wanted to sail aboard the ship had to travel to Port Canaveral, Florida.
The 2027 New York season makes the ship more accessible to travelers from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and other parts of the Northeast. Families within driving or train distance of Manhattan may be able to avoid airfare, an overnight hotel stay and some of the logistical complications that come with flying to a cruise port.
Sailing out of New York also offers a memorable beginning to the vacation. Passengers can enjoy views of the Manhattan skyline and New York Harbor as the ship heads out to sea.
What Is Onboard the Disney Wish?
The Disney Wish combines familiar Disney Cruise Line experiences with restaurants, entertainment and attractions created specifically for the ship.
One of its best-known attractions is AquaMouse, a two-person water ride that carries guests through approximately 760 feet of tubes above the upper decks. The experience combines water-slide elements with animated scenes featuring Mickey and Minnie.
Dining is also a major part of the Disney Wish experience. Guests rotate through three main dining rooms while keeping the same serving team throughout the cruise.
The restaurants include:
- Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure, an immersive dinner show featuring characters and music from “Frozen”
- Worlds of Marvel, a cinematic Marvel-themed dining experience
- 1923, an elegant restaurant inspired by the history of Walt Disney Animation Studios
The ship also offers Broadway-style stage productions, character appearances, deck parties, pools and family activities.
Children can participate in supervised programming at Disney’s Oceaneer Club, while tweens and teens have their own dedicated spaces. Adults can visit the Quiet Cove pool area, lounges, the Senses Spa or adults-only restaurants available for an additional charge.
What Is Included in a Disney Cruise?
A Disney cruise fare generally includes rotational dining, most casual food options, nonalcoholic drinks available in the dining rooms and at beverage stations, Broadway-style shows, character experiences, youth clubs and many onboard activities.
Some expenses are not included, such as alcoholic beverages, specialty coffee, spa treatments, shore excursions, nursery care and adults-only specialty dining.
Disney Cruise Line is often more expensive than competing family cruise lines, but the New York departure could help Northeast families save on flights and other pre-cruise travel expenses.
When Can You Book the Disney Wish From New York?
Bookings will open in stages.
Select Disney Cruise Line Castaway Club members can begin booking on August 31, 2026. General booking opens on September 8, 2026.
Castaway Club booking priority typically depends on the guest’s membership level and previous Disney Cruise Line sailing history. Travelers who have never sailed with Disney will need to wait until reservations open to the general public.
Exact cruise dates, prices, ports and stateroom availability should appear on the Disney Cruise Line website when the itineraries become bookable.
Should You Book Early?
Travelers interested in these cruises may want to look at availability as soon as their booking window opens.
There are only seven Disney Wish sailings from New York, and five will go to Bermuda. The combination of a limited season, a newer Disney ship and a convenient Northeast departure could make some dates particularly popular.
Cruise fares can change as cabins are booked. Larger family staterooms, connecting rooms, suites and lower-priced inside cabins may also have limited availability.
Before booking, compare the different itineraries carefully. Some Bermuda sailings will offer a longer visit than others, while the New England and Canada cruises will provide a completely different fall vacation experience.
