Many ski resorts in New York offer free lift tickets for children under 7 years old. The age cut-off varies depending on the ski resort. Some ski resorts offer free lift tickets to all children 6 years old and under, while some New York ski resorts only let kids 4 years old and under ski free. Free Lift Tickets for Kids 4 Years old and Under at New York Ski Resorts

Kids 4 years old and under can ski for free at Mount Peter with a purchase of an adult lift ticket. Otherwise, lift tickets for kids age 4 and under are $30 each.

Hunter Mountain gives free lift tickets for kids 6 years old and under. On the day you are skiing, just stop by the ticket window at Hunter Mountain to get your child’s free lift ticket.

Discounted Kids Lift Tickets at New York Ski Resorts

If you have kids 6 years old and under, your child used to be able to ski for free at most ski resorts in New York. Now, that is not the case. Instead of free lift tickets, New York ski resorts offer discounted lift tickets for kids 6 years old and younger.

Your child can ski at a discounted rate at Gore Mountain. Lift tickets for kids under 7 years old are only $10 at Gore Mountain. Whiteface Mountain also offers discounted lift tickets for children 6 years old and under. Lift tickets at Whiteface Mountain for kids 6 years and under are also $10. Belleayre Mountain also sells discounted lift tickets for kids under 7 years old. Lift tickets at Belleayre Mountain are $10 for children 6 years old and under.

New York Free Lift Tickets for 3rd and 4th Graders

If you have a 3rd and 4th grader, your child can ski for free at New York ski resorts! The SKI NY Ski and Ride Passport Program allow 3rd and 4th graders to ski for free at participating New York ski resorts/ski areas.

How It Works: New York Ski and Ride Passport Program

You have to apply your child to the SKI New York Kids Passport program. 3rd and 4th graders participating in the SKI New York Kids Passport program will receive free lift tickets! Note that you need to purchase an adult lift ticket to receive the free child lift tickets and the adult lift tickets must be purchased directly from the ski resort and not from 3rd party ticket sellers. New York also offers a Kids Learn to Ski or Ride Program for true beginners. There is a $41 processing fee (must purchase an adult lift ticket to be eligible)! Blackout dates do apply to the SKI NY Kids Passport Program so you should check with the ski resort before you go!
